Last Month in Watched It: April 2018

What I Watched April 2018

  • Battle of the Sexes (2017)
  • Deepwater Horizon (2016)
  • Lucky (2017)
  • IT (2017)
  • Murder on the Orient Express (2017)

The Good:

As someone who is not a big fan of horror movies and put off watching IT for as long as possible… I absolutely loved the movie. It’s such a fantastic adaption of the original material and the cast nailed their performances. It was scary at times and campy at others providing for the perfect mix in my opinion. Grade A

The Bad:

The bad for April is going to be a little film called Lucky, staring Harry Dean Stanton in his final performance. I understand a lot of people have found the beauty in such a simple story about this 90 year old man and his journey through life, and I see some of that beauty but overall I couldn’t get past the poor directing and turtle slow pace. It left me bored and checking the time on my phone… a lot. Didn’t hate it, didn’t love it.  Grade C-

The Old or Surprising:

The most surprising thing about the movies I watched this month, was how meh i was on Deepwater Horizon. Peter Berg was fresh off Lone Survivor, which was a solid movie and followed Deepwater with Patriots Day, an absolute amazing movie. I just thought this was going to be another solid offering that I finally got around to and it’s just ok. Worth a watch but I was slightly let down. Grade B-
