2016 Spring Movie Preview

Spring preview time! It’s time to look at what has already came out this Spring and what else is on the way. Here are my most anticipated movies for March, April, and May.

Top 5 Most Anticipated Spring 2016 Movies

5. Batman vs Superman: Dawn of JusticeMarch 20th

  • Full disclosure, I hated the trailers for Batman v. Superman. Zack Snyder can put together great visuals, that we know, but can he tell a good story? Nope. 300 was impressive, but I was also in college and saw it drunk. Watchmen is a fan favorite but it did very little for me. So, now you’re probably wondering why it’s in the top 5 for Spring. That’s simple, I love Batman. This should be interesting.

4. The Jungle Book, April 15th

  • The first of two Jungle Book movies coming out over the next couple years. Andy Serkis is about to begin filming his version for 2017, but this version is Jon Favreau’s. The trailers look great and the cast playing the animals, is full of heavy hitters. It’s going to boil down to the kid and if he can pull off the tough task of acting in a film with a lot of CGI.

THE JUNGLE BOOK ? WILD WORLD ? Man-cub Mowgli (voice of Neel Sethi), who's been raised by a family of wolves, embarks on a journey of self-discovery, guided by a panther-turned-mentor Bagheera. Directed by Jon Favreau (?Iron Man?), based on Rudyard Kipling?s timeless stories and featuring state-of the-art technology that immerses audiences in the lush world like never before, Disney?s ?The Jungle Book? hits theaters in stunning 3D and IMAX 3D on April 15, 2016. ?2015 Disney Enterprises, Inc. 3. 10 Cloverfield Lane, March 11th

  • I’m not sure if this is a prequel or a sequel, but somehow this movie is linked to Cloverfield. Cloverfield was a solid movie but a sequel eight years later seems odd and normally wouldn’t peak my interest, but then I saw the trailer for 10 Cloverfield Lane… wow. This looks really good.

2. X-Men: Apocalypse, May 27th

  • I will keep this simple… I loved the past two X-Men movies but I’m not a big fan of comic book movies in general. They’re never great but in that same vein they’re never horrible as long as Superman’s not involved. The X-Men though… I love it. Great story lines paired with great visuals. This was an easy call for me putting X-Men: Apocalypse at number two.

1. Green Room, April 15th

  • Jeremy Saulnier blew me away with Blue Ruin and left me drooling and waiting for more of his work and here it comes in the form of Green Room. It looks dark and tense which sounds perfect to me. Getting some bigger names in the cast now as well which is exciting.
